Baking Saturdays

Saturday has become a very cooking-based day of the week for me. Not only are Saturdays the day I show up here and write a post for this community, but recently, Saturdays have also become the days when I send myself into the kitchen, not to make lunch or dinner, but to bake.

This is a very American habit, but my friends soon got used to the variety of things that were coming out of my tiny Paris kitchen: yogurt cake, cookies, even Tarte Tatin. I’ve never had such a willing group of participants to sample anything I want to make on a whim.

Now I plan ahead for my baking. My roommate loves typical American things like chocolate chip cookies, but she also loves scones. My boyfriend has recently discovered the classic American combo of chocolate and peanut butter, and anything that has to do with the mix of these two, he’s on board with.

Which is why last weekend, I decided to try out a recipe for Nutella and Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies that I found over at La Dolce Vita. I aim to please, and these were a winner for the chocolate and peanut butter lovers in my house.

I’m still trying to decide what to bake next week… any ideas?
