Previous to this year, I had only been to Canada on one occasion: a band trip to Canada’s Wonderland just north of Toronto. Yes, I was a band geek. It’s a scarlet letter I wear proudly. But I digress.
This year, I’m on my third trip. I’m taking full advantage of the fact that I live only two hours from the border. First, a quick boat ride to Victoria. Then I drove to Vancouver for a weekend. And now?
Now I take the Coast Line Express to (a bus) Whistler, Canada for the Whistler Film Festival.
Yes, yes…Whistler is a ski resort. But I don’t do skis. Any activity that highlights my own natural lack of grace doesn’t get a lot of play from me. But movies? Movies I can do.
Six of them to be exact.
But really? I’m goign there to explore. I’ve never been to a ski resort before, let alone one which will be featured on an international stage for the 2010 Olympics. Plus, there’ll be snow! Something which is somewhat lacking here in Seattle.
