The Joy of…Cooking?

I’m not sure that The Joy of Cooking’s frozen food selection will actually result in any joy of cooking.

Jus’ sayin’.

Here are their instructions on how to make lasagna.

First, you buy their pre-made lasagna.

Then you’re presented with two options:

RECOMMENDED: CONVENTIONAL OVEN
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place tray on baking sheet. Vent corner of film and bake for 70 minutes. Remove film completely and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes. Carefully remove from oven. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

SECONDARY: MICRO-BAKE (1200 Watt Microwave; Preheat Conventional oven to 350°F.)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Vent corner of film and cook in microwave on high for 6 minutes. Carefully remove from microwave. Place tray on baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove film and cook an additional 10 minutes. Carefully remove from oven. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

I can get that exquisite blissful feeling from the satisfaction of a job well done from simply pressing a few buttons on the microwave? Who would have thought?
