While it is true that a soda is sugar-laden beverage, regardless of whether it’s sweetened with HFCS or pure cane sugar, I still find the news that Pepsi offering a throwback version of both Pepsi and Mountain Dew, made with sugar rather than any corn syrup (high fructose or no), an interesting bit of news.
I will have some questions of course…well, three really.
1) Will 16 oz. of sugar-made Pepsi have more or less calories than HFCS-Pepsi.
2) Will a difference in taste be noticeable?
3) Will this be an economically viable product for the long term?
Of course how the third question is answered will determine if and when Coke will get in on this.
